Strange Machine is a London-based production company that aims to disrupt conventions in the film industry and bring different perspectives to the screen.
Francesca is a director and award-winning writer. With a background in theatre, she transitioned to film and gained experience on feature film production and distribution with companies such as RPC, Universal, New Regency, See-Saw, and Porchlight Films, assisting producer Liz Watts.
Her short film script, Faded, won a Live Script Reading Award at the British Urban Film Festival supported by Channel 4, and her first (co-written) feature film screenplay was awarded research funding from the Finnish Cultural Foundation and is now in development. In 2017 Francesca was selected as a participant on the professional development programmes, BAFTA Crew, and Widening the Lens: Shorts 2 Features run by Encounters Festival.
Manuel is editor and publisher of the arts, science and politics journal, After Us. Through essays and fiction, the journal focuses on how the latest technological developments and new political ideas might affect society in the future, and explores how the arts can help guide us through a changing world.
Manuel is also an art director for several clients in the independent music industry, working under his studio name, Optigram, and for twelve years owned and ran the retro-futurist record label, Citinite.
